Ensuring a Safe & Enjoyable Traveling Experience for All

UPDATE #1 – Hello travelers! Please take a moment to read the following important message or watch the ASL version here. (March 1, 2025)

As the new Operations Manager, I want to inform you of an important update to our Terms and Conditions.

Since our founding in 2002, customer satisfaction has been our top priority. One way we achieve this is by offering authentic travel experiences, not cookie-cutter tours. To do this, we often immerse ourselves in local cultures through walking tours in various city and country terrain.

Most of our tours involve a significant amount of walking, including uphill and downhill paths, rough terrain, and cobblestones. Additionally, travelers are expected to handle their own luggage with minimal assistance.

While the Tour Manager’s role is to ensure that the group enjoys the tour, they are not responsible for providing physical assistance to individual travelers. Our priority is the safety and well-being of the group, and we cannot focus on one person’s needs at the expense of the group’s overall safety.

Going forward, if you have any conditions that could impact your ability to participate in a tour, please share with your Tour Manager full details about your physical fitness and medical status. This will allow us to advise you on whether the tour you’ve signed up for is appropriate. This includes using a wheelchair, walker, or scooter; having difficulty walking long distances without frequent breaks; low vision; chronic illnesses that may affect your day to day activities; and so on.

This process helps us ensure that our tours are a good fit for you. We want to avoid any uncomfortable situations during the tour, as vacations are meant to be enjoyable!

If, after your arrival, HOT determines that you are physically unable to continue the tour due to previously undisclosed conditions, we reserve the right to prevent you from participating further, in order to ensure the safety of the entire group.

Lastly, we recommend purchasing travel insurance. This can help protect you in case of illness or an aggravation of a medical condition before or during the tour, offering you added security and confidence.

If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Tour Manager.

At HOT, we are dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable travel experience for everyone.

Thank you!
