Experience a floating market. Ride on bicycles through the countryside. Learn how to take care of elephants near Chiang Mai. See the blue temple and the white temple in Chiang Rai.

MARCH 29
Arrival into Bangkok. Meet your deaf tour leader and check into your hotel. Stay in Bangkok for 5 nights.
MARCH 30
Head up to see the remains of Ayutthaya, the second capital city which was destroyed by the Burmese in 1767 and is currently a UNESCO World Heritage site. We return to Bangkok by late afternoon. We return to Bangkok by late afternoon. Welcome dinner.
MARCH 31
In the morning, we visit the Fourth Kingdom at Rattanakosin, which evolved into Bangkok. Marvel at the splendid Grand Palace, glittering Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Pho, where a 160 foot long Reclining Buddha reside. Then we take a boat tour across Chao Phraya River to Thonburi, whichwastheThirdKingdom. Gothroughtheklongs(canals)withstopsatWatArun,Artist’s House and orchid farm. Try to spot a water monitor! Afterwards, we take the Skytrain back to Siam Square for dinner.
APRIL 1
We head out to Ratchaburi to see the interesting Mae Klong train market, as well as Damnoen Saduak floating market. Short ride on paddle boats. Sample homemade coconut ice cream. Get on bicycles and ride through rustic countryside for 19 miles with several stops enroute. Return back to Bangkok. Free time in the evening.
APRIL 2
In the morning, we visit a few markets and temples in the countryside. Free time in the afternoon.
APRIL 3
Possible meeting with some students at Setsatian School for the Deaf in the morning. Learn Thai Sign Language. After lunch, we visit National Association of the Deaf in Thailand, and learn about the advocacy efforts. Take an overnight sleeper train to Chiang Mai.
APRIL 4
Arrive into Chiang Mai before breakfast. Climb the stairs to Doi Suthep before returning to Chiang Mai. Stay in Chiang Mai for 3 nights.
APRIL 5
All day excursion to Chiang Rai to see the blue temple and white temple as well as the Giant Buddha.
APRIL 6
Spend all day at an ethical “hands off” elephant rescue sanctuary. Ethical participation would mean no riding and no bathing. Just observe them roaming, interacting and playing freely. Visit other rescued animals as well. Do some shopping at the Chang Klan Night Bazaar.
APRIL 7
Fly from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. Spend free time in the afternoon shopping around Siam Square and MBK Center. Farewell dinner. Return to the airport for your flight back to the USA.
