DIVE INTO CULTURE
The Basque Country, independent with its own language and deep cultural roots. Barcelona is likewise very proudly Catalan. The French Riviera is famous for its glitz and glamour. Provence is the essence of French country culture.
SAMPLE FOOD & DRINKS
The Basque Country is famous for “pintxos” which are small delicious appetizers that are laid out on long wooden bars and invites munching. We visit a famous cider house where fresh cider is poured along with succulent wood-grilled steaks. Provence boasts delicious wines and fresh produce.
14 DAYS / 13 NIGHTS
DAY 1 - 4
DAY 1 - Arrival in Nice. Meet your tour guide and we transfer to our hotel on the French Riviera. Get settled in and take an orientation walk. Welcome dinner. Stay in the French Riviera for 3 nights.
DAY 2 - Take a driving tour to visit Villefranche-sur-Mer, the glitz of Monaco and Montecarlo, and explore the center of old Nice.
DAY 3 - Drive up to St. Paul high in the mountains above Nice, and then visit the harbor town of Antibes.
DAY 4 - Transfer to Provence, stopping by Cassis on the way. In Cassis we take a cruise to visit the gorgeous calenques. Then take a driving tour around Marseille. Overnight near Aix-en-Provence.
DAY 5 - 8
DAY 5 - Continue on to explore Provence, taking a driving tour through Roussillon, Gordes, St. Remy, and Les Baux. Stay near Les Baux or Arles for 2 nights.
DAY 6 - Visit the Pont du Gard Aqueduct, Avignon’s Palace of the Popes, and Arles’ Roman Forum.
DAY 7 - Transfer to Carcassonne, stopping by Nimes to visit the Temple of Diana and the Forum. In Carcassonne, appreciate the well-preserved medieval town with its defense walls intact. Overnight in Carcassonne.
DAY 8 - We drive to San Sebastian, and explore the city, strolling the promenade and visiting the old town and port. Stay in San Sebastian for 3 nights.
DAY 9 - 12
DAY 9 - We visit Bilbao including the famous Guggenheim Museum, an architectural marvel.
DAY 10 - Explore the French Basque Country today, including St. Jean de Luz, Bayonne and Biarritz.
DAY 11 -Transfer to Barcelona, and get out to explore the lively Catalan capital, including Gaudi’s architecture and Las Ramblas. Stay in Barcelona for 3 nights.
DAY 12 - Spend the entire day exploring Barcelona, including visits to Gaudi’s masterpiece church Sagrada Familia and his designed Parc Guell.
DAY 13 - 14
DAY 13 - Day free in Barcelona to do as you desire. Farewell dinner.
DAY 14 - Transfer to the airport for your next flight desination
