Price

$3,620 USD per person/double occupancy (based on group of 12+) plus approximately $90 for one-way flight or high speed train from Nice to Paris

$500 USD deposit per person is required to reserve space on a first come, first serve basis.

The remaining balance must be paid in full 90 days before the first day of the tour.

JULY 9 • • •
Arrival into Paris in the morning. We head up north to Rouen for lunch. Visit the site where Joan of Arc was burned at stake. Stop at the World War 2 Memorial Museum in Caen. Welcome dinner. Sleep in Bayeux for 3 nights. D

JULY 10 • • •
D-Day sights: Starting with the museum in Arromanches, followed by the Longues-sur-Mer gun battery, Normandy American Cemetery, Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc Ranger Monument, and La Cambe German Cemetery.

JULY 11 • • •
Day trip to Brittany’s island commune, Mont Saint Michel. If time allows after our return, we check out the 230 feet long Bayeux Tapestry, which was made in the 10th century.

JULY 12 • • •
3-hour drive back to Paris. After lunch, we visit St. Jacques Deaf School in the afternoon. See Abbe de l’Epee’s cenotaph. Walk through the Tuleries and alongside Champs Elysées up to Arc de Triomphe. After dinner, we take a cruise on the Seine River. Stay in Paris for 3 nights.

JULY 13 • • •
Morning walk at the heart of the city, Ile de la Cite, with a local deaf guide. Visit Notre Dame Cathedral and Sainte-Chapelle. Explore the artistic treasures of the Louvre in the afternoon, including the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo.

JULY 14 • • •
All day visit at Versailles for the best (or worst) example of the glorious 18th century, when Louis XIV the Sun King and France was at the forefront of Europe. After returning to Paris, we go up the Eiffel Tower.

JULY 15 • • •
3-hour drive to the walled town of Beaune, the capital of Burgundy wines in the Cote d’Or region. Check out Hôtel-Dieu. Visit a couple of cellars, wineries and vineyards of Burgundy. Stay in Beaune for 1 night.

JULY 16 • • •
Drive down to Louhans to visit the birthplace of Ferdinand Berthier, including the Berthier Museum and burial tomb. Then La Balme-les-Grottes to visit the birthplace of Laurent Clerc, including the Clerc museum and the church where he was baptized. Stay in Lyon for 2 nights.

JULY 17 • • •
Morning walk through the historic centre of Lyon with a local deaf guide. Free time in the afternoon.

JULY 18 • • •
3-hour drive to Arles in the morning with a stopover in Avignon for the grandiose Palace of the Popes. Upon arrival in Arles, explore the cobblestone streets where Van Gogh roamed and the Roman amphitheatre. Stay in Avignon for 3 nights.

JULY 19 • • •
Visit Provence, including the spectacular aqueduct bridge at Pont du Gard, the characteristic old town of Uzes, and the well-preserved theatre at Nimes.

JULY 20 • • •
Continued visit in Provence, including the fascinating fortified town at Les Baux and the colorful town of Saint Remy.

JULY 21 • • •
Drive 2.5 hours to Nice, capital of the French Riviera. Walk around Baie des Anges (Old Town Nice) and climb up to La Colline du Château (Castle Hill) to see what the the fuss is about. Free time in the afternoon to spend on the beach. Stay in Cannes for 2 nights.

JULY 22 • • •
A slow paced day exploring Cote d’Azur (also known as French Riviera), including a visit to the Principality of Monaco, Roman Emperor Augustus’ monument at La Turbie, and the fishing village of Villefranche-sur-Mer. Farewell dinner. D

JULY 23 • • •
Morning return to Paris via flight or train. Transfer for your return flights to USA, or stay for the opening ceremony of the WFD Congress.
