As we approach our 25th anniversary, returning to our Italy tour — the very first tour we ever offered — always feels like coming home. So much has changed since that first year… yet the heart of the experience remains beautifully the same.
On our first full day, we still take our groups along the winding Amalfi Coast. And, just as we’ve done since the beginning, we stop at that same breathtaking overlook before reaching Positano — where the sea glows, the cliffs drop dramatically, and the view feels like the perfect “welcome to Italy.” We snap our group photo, some guests grab fresh-squeezed lemonade from the very same stand, served by the very same man. The same friendly faces fill that little piazza year after year, becoming part of our story.
Nearby, our beloved restaurant — family-owned for over 50 years — welcomes us for our traditional first-night dinner. Their warmth is as comforting as ever, and their caprese ravioli (made with so much love) disappears from plates just as quickly as it did decades ago.
In Tuscany, our groups still gather at a local trattoria, sitting outdoors in a sun-washed piazza, sharing rustic Tuscan dishes: bruschetta, hearty bean soup, cured meats, and simple house red wine that tastes perfect under an open sky.
And throughout it all, our Deaf local guides weave in the rich stories, cultural insights, and personal touches that make this journey truly unforgettable.
We’re so proud of what this tour has become — and what it has always been: a chance to experience the real Italy with us at Hands On Travel. We hope to welcome you on one of our Italy tours in the near future!
